Update to finishings
- Binding is moved and is now a type of finishing.
- Allows for adding more than one binding to a job and to show a finishing before the binding on the work order.
- It is now possible to administrate Finishing types.
- Allows for adding custom properties and remove finishing types that are not in use.
Product type and production type properties
- A production type defines a type of products in a general way, for example ”Digital” or ”Small format”.
- Properties can be defined in production types and set in the product type if it is connected to the production type.
- Properties can also be defined in the product type and are set in the job definition.
- Properties from the production type are shown in the job definition but are not editable.
- Properties in the production type and product type serve as a way to describe a final product in general terms, for example that the binding type should be ”SaddleStitch” and are used by production routing to set the processes required to produce the job and create that final product.
Production routing
- Takes the product description in general terms described by the product type and production type properties and transform it to a number of processes that are added to the job.
- Adds prepress, printer, post press, general processes and packaging in job based on rules and limitations.
- Limitations include supported media formats or color stations for printers or supported groups of print media based on the printer.
- Rules are based on properties in the job such as number of pages, colors, media format or binding type.
Automatic planning of processes in jobs
- When an order is ordered, all processes for all jobs are automatically planned based on a set of rules.
- The time of each process is set according to the calculated time.
- If the calculated time is longer than the available hours in a day, the process will be split and distributed over as many days as needed.
- If there is a requested delivery date set on the order, the last process of each job will be planned so that it ends at the latest available time and latest available day before requested delivery date. All other processes are planned backwards according to available days and hours.
- If there is no delivery date set, the first process of each job will be planned at the earliest available time on the first available day. All other processes are planned in order after.
